Key Features of AutoCAD
Autodesk offers a wide range of AutoCAD software products to meet virtually any customer need. You can get AutoCAD software in two forms: desktop/portable and online/cloud. AutoCAD is used as a standalone program or as part of other AutoCAD software products. There is also AutoCAD LT, which is a free (as in “free beer” or “free speech”) CAD program.
AutoCAD is available as a desktop application and a portable app that runs on tablet and laptop computers. To get AutoCAD, you must purchase a copy of AutoCAD and additional software (see below). The AutoCAD apps can also be used in offline mode to create and edit drawings.

AutoCAD R16 comes with two installable editions, with and without the Autodesk Service Network. The former enables you to access the Autodesk Service Network. This version is the same as in R16x4 and R16x5.
Autodesk AutoCAD LT is a free CAD program that runs on a wide range of PCs and laptops and on tablets and smartphones. No registration is required for AutoCAD LT. However, you can only use AutoCAD LT to create and edit 2D drawings. You can print your drawings with the free Autodesk Gallery software. You can also exchange your drawings with other users in the Autodesk community via the Autodesk Gallery and the Autodesk Marketplace, an online service that lets you purchase, download, and exchange CAD-related content (3D models, web services, plugins, training videos, and so on).
AutoCAD LT has three editable types: “Standard,” “Drafting,” and “Vector.” Standard and Drafting are non-cloud-based AutoCAD products, whereas Vector is cloud-based.

The following table provides a comparison of the current AutoCAD release numbers with the release numbers of the previous versions. The preceding figure is a chart that shows the AutoCAD versions that are available in the market. These versions are: AutoCAD LT, AutoCAD 2018, AutoCAD 2018 LT, AutoCAD 2017, AutoCAD 2017 LT, AutoCAD 2016, AutoCAD 2016 LT, AutoCAD 2015,
AutoCAD includes a library of default drawing templates which, with the assistance of AutoCAD’s GUI designer, can be used to create drawing documents without much effort. Other features in AutoCAD include intelligent finding and replacing of drawing elements. These are accessed through the ribbon toolbars which contain buttons for these functions. Another notable feature is the ability to measure an object through the “Measure” tool.
The AutoCAD native file format is the file-based.DWG,.DGN, and.DWF file type. Although originally delivered as an Adobe Illustrator file format (.ai), AutoCAD and many of the products based on it, such as AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD Electrical, use a native DWF format.
For creating new drawings, many programs, such as AutoCAD, are able to import a wide variety of standard file formats. This includes the native AutoCAD DWF and DGN formats, as well as several of the standard vector drawing programs.
AutoCAD also supports native 3D drawings (.3D) and 3D models (.3DM), both of which can be exported to other programs (although these other programs may not be able to import them natively).

Academy Members only:
Build and browse portfolios in one app. Browse a visual portfolio of your favorite designs directly in your browser.
With the push of a button, replace your entire model with a duplicate copy.
Draw a simple 2D geometry with a series of straight lines. Forged drawings are easy and simple to create with just a few lines and common geometric shapes.
Generate an accurate massaged version of your geometry as a seamless edit. This feature works with all 2D applications in AutoCAD.
Share your drawing directly to the web using the Web Attachment feature.
Perform fast and accurate 2D measurements of existing model geometry. Find measurements in seconds and then adjust the location of the model in your drawing.
Layer Style Editor:
Edit layers using new editing tools, such as the new Stack Viewer tool.
No Cartographic Data Required:
Connect to existing CAD data using advanced search and filtering features in both 2D and 3D.
Use the cloud for related graphics. Simply send a file to the cloud, and the cloud sends you back the most relevant related graphics.
Modify, massaging, or remove non-manifold parts in simple polygonal 2D models, without the use of editing tools.
Automatically split lines and polygons.
Customize the extrusion of simple 2D objects into 3D surfaces.
Snap to a viewport with consistent snapping at any resolution level.
Take advantage of the cloud and send models to your friends or colleagues.
For more information about AutoCAD 2023, check out the official release notes. To learn more about AutoCAD and the different editions available, visit the AutoCAD product page.
Now you can integrate engineering companies, document formats, and other 3D data into your AutoCAD drawings.
After you’ve sent a model or drawing to the cloud, the cloud extracts and simplifies the content based on your requests. Once it’s simplified, you
